Geography — 2026 Canadian Citizenship Test Practice

Free

Canada is the second-largest country on earth — 10 million square kilometres bordered by three oceans. The test covers the five distinct regions and all provinces and territories. — Discover Canada

Five Regions

Atlantic Provinces (NL, PE, NS, NB), Central Canada (QC, ON), Prairie Provinces (MB, SK, AB), West Coast (BC), and Northern Territories (YT, NT, NU). Each region has distinct geography, economy, and culture.

Provinces & Territories

Canada has ten provinces and three territories. Ontario and Quebec are the most populous. Each province has a capital city. The test asks you to identify provinces, territories, and their capitals on a map.

Natural Features

The Rocky Mountains, Great Lakes, St. Lawrence River, Niagara Falls, the Canadian Shield, and the Arctic tundra define Canada's landscape. Canada has the longest coastline in the world and vast freshwater resources.

Population & Cities

Canada has about 40 million people. Most live within 200 km of the U.S. border. The largest cities are Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, and Ottawa (the national capital). Each major city has unique characteristics.

Canada–U.S. Border

The southern border with the United States is the longest international boundary in the world. Both nations are committed to a safe, secure, and efficient frontier. Trade between the two countries is the largest bilateral relationship on earth.

Climate & Environment

Canada spans multiple climate zones from Pacific coastal rainforest to Arctic tundra. The country has immense natural beauty — national parks, wildlife, and some of the world's largest remaining wilderness areas. Environmental stewardship is part of Canadian identity.
